A degree in sculpture, 10 years in the advertising industry and twelve years running a business in Frankfurt probably isn't the most likely path to making artworks. Vincent returned from Frankfurt in 2003 to open his first studio in London. His interests in advertising, brands, products, typography, fashion images and the eclectic energy of consumerist London street life are reflected in his figurative artworks. From a city trader to a backstreet hustler to ‘lady’s that lunch’ all become polarised artworks of the London urban metropolis.
In 2015 we changed our print process to the traditional C-Type method of printing resulting in a far richer saturation of colour and introduction of a thicker film for print allowed us to cut-in more detail than previously. At about the same time we discovered a manufacturer that produced slightly longer pins that have beautiful jewel-like, coloured class heads; changing these small details was a revelation and contributed to the collages finding a new level of intricacy.
Only a concise selection of collages are on our website but we have a full back catalogue of artworks consisting of two decades of work which are stored digitally. At any given time the studio holds a small collection of artworks available to view by appointment. The majority of collages incorporate London images although we have previously been commissioned to make site-specific artworks using images from Miami, New York, Paris, Amsterdam and Moscow. Collages can also be tailor-made to include personal interests; recently two commissioned collages involved photographing a clients extensive wine and book collection.
